NOTE: These are not rules. These are more like guidelines that should be followed closely.
Do not steal a roleplay that is not your's
Do not take over a roleplay that is not yours. A rp can naturally shift towards any character, but to force the shift through random and completely uncalled for drama is rude and uncalled for.
Do not leave roleplayers behind
If it seems as if it's been a while since a person has replied, check to see if their character left the roleplay. If they didn't, you and other RPers left them behind. Do not make it so they have to rejoin a roleplay they didn't leave in the first place.
Respect other people's moves.
Do not place your moves above theirs in importance, they have aright to do the same to you. If there is an important piece of information that the move crosses with, tell them rather than override with something so high and mighty that it is unrealistic.
Be an active roleplayer.
Joining a roleplay and simply standing around, waiting for someone to talk to your character is sad and lonley. (I was once guilty of this. Got out that habit real quick.) This will annoy other roleplayers, and if no one responds to your character, no one but yourself can be a t fault here. Have your character interact with others, they are not a rock that has googly eyes and painted smile on its surface.
Observe some form of order.
Without a posting order, many roleplayers will cut off what others are about to. Each posting order is unique to the roleplay, and yes, the posting order can change throughout the roleplay. It's just a basic rule of thumb to not post after a different person posts...every... single... time.
Respect the abilities of others.
If their character can do something, do not automatically top it when your character has no history with such gift or ability. They have these abilities and that makes them special in their own way, get your own (said in Subway commercial voice of adults talking like kinds). The worst mistake a person can do is underestimate a persons abilities or state that their ability is wrong or "not" an ability in an RP. This can be considered powerplay in certain situations.
Be patient, don't annoy.
I and other members have lives that we enjoy greatly. Not everyone can be online at the same time to reply to a roleplay, and not everyone can be constantly replying. Allow them to reply at their own pace. A nudge is otay, but if you constantly tell them to reply, that is annoying and uncalled for. Not everyone has WI-FI or 3G to access the internet.
